Overview

The Tiled Sea Star, also called the Necklace Sea Star, is one of the more hardy of the sea star family but is still quite sensitive to changes in pH, salinity, oxygen and temperature changes within the aquarium. It cannot tolerate copper based medication. During handling, it should never be exposed to air and should be kept submerged.

The sea star eats micro organisms and detritus, so the aquarium should have live rock for it to forage on. It's diet can be supplemented with small pieces of shrimp, mussel, or flake food. If the aquarium is large enough to support more than one sea star, it will tolerate others of it's species.
