Overview
The Red Sea Sailfin Tang, also commonly referred to as the Desjardini Tang, goes through a remarkable color change from a juvenile to an adult. Juveniles are white with striking black tiger stripes down their bodies and a yellow face and fins, while adults become speckled and darken in color and gain intricate yellow and orange streaks that accent the stripes that they've kept.
Like other tangs, they require live rock with plenty of algae to graze on, and should be given seaweed and other plant matter to eat. They may snack on meatier food as well but it shouldn't be their primary diet. They can be kept with other fish and coral reefs, but should be the only tang in the tank.
