Overview

The Powder Blue Tang, also called the Blue Surgeonfish, is sought after by many aquarium keepers for its bright, bold and beautiful colors. Its body is several varying shades of blue accented by whites and yellows. Blue black covers its face and outlines the tail.

When it comes to tank size, larger is better as it is an active swimmer. A strong pump should be used in the tank as they need highly oxygenated water and like a lot of water flow. The Powder Blue Tang cannot be housed with other tangs and it should be watched closely to make sure it isn't bullying smaller fish. There should be live rock in the tank with algae for them to graze on. They should be fed dried seaweed and algae, and will also eat live or frozen foods.
