Overview

The White Cloud Minnow, also commonly known as the White Cloud Mountain Minnow, is a popular beginner aquarium fish due to their hardy, forgiving nature and ease of care. Their bodies are light and somewhat translucent in color with white striping down their sides and a bright orange or red spot on the dorsal fin and the base of the tail fin. This variant is selectively bred to have beautiful, flowing fins.

They will do well in a peaceful community aquarium, and are a well-tempered schooling species. They should be kept in a school of at least six, but even more are ideal. If their shoal is too small, they may be easily stressed and prone to hiding.

Omnivores, these minnows will accept a wide variety of foods, including pellets, high quality flakes, and live and frozen preparations.
