Overview

Albino Golden Julie's retain the same pattern as their regular colored counterparts--they have thick, horizontal striping down the sides of their bodies and framing the dorsal fin. On albinos, this stripe is a distinct white shade while the rest of the body is yellow toned. Their pupils are a striking red color.

Julie's are best kept in a tank with a fine gravel or sandy substrate with plenty of rockwork that forms caves for them to hide in. They are territorial but can live with many other Lake Tanganyikan cichlids. They should be kept singly or in a pair, as they will be aggressive towards their own species.

They will readily accept a wide variety of pellet, flake, live and frozen foods and should be fed both meaty preparations and vegetable matter.
