The Red Spot Glass Cardinal, Apogon parvulus, otherwise known as the Redspot Cardinalfish, or the Red Spot Cardinalfish is a notoriously difficult cardinal to keep in the home aquarium and should be reserved for experienced aquarists only. If taken care of properly, the Red Spot Glass Cardinal can be kept with success and can add a unique tinge of color and interest into your tank. The Red Spot Glass Cardinal requires at least a 40 gallon tank with open rock work but plenty of open tank for it to swim. They are best kept in groups, which will increase their chance of survival. The Red Spot Glass Cardinal is quite rare for the aquarium trade, and if kept successfully can be a lively centerpiece to many tanks.
