Overview

Glo Tiger Barbs are GloFish, which are genetically modified fish that come in an assortment of neon colors. They have not been injected with dye or harmed in any way, and their care, hardiness and lifespan is the same as any other Tiger Barb.

They will appreciate a tank with plants and driftwood, however, there should still be plenty of open swimming space. Tiger Barbs should be kept in groups of at least 6 since they are a schooling fish. They are known fin nippers and should not be housed with any fish with long, flowing fins such as bettas, gouramis or angelfish. They will do well with faster moving, equally small and peaceful fish with shorter fins. A good tankmate for Tiger Barbs are Clown Loaches--since the two look so similar, they may even school together.

They should be fed a varied diet for optimal health that includes pellets, flakes, live and frozen foods that contain both vegetable matter and meat.
